Crimes on the internet
Cybercrime or digital violence is a collective term for computer crime and encompasses a variety of different criminal offenses. Cybercrime offences are characterized by a variety of different forms of crime. These include sexualized violence (such as cybergrooming: adults contacting children and young people via the internet to initiate sexual acts), property crime (such as phishing, fake stores) or violent crime (such as cyberbullying, cyberstalking).
The common feature is that the internet is used to commit the violence. The perpetrators are often unknown, as they can act anonymously using a pseudonym, for example.
