Psychosocial process support
Psychosocial trial support is the qualified care, provision of information and support for victims in criminal proceedings
.It takes place before, during and after the main hearing and aims to reduce the individual burden on victims. Particularly vulnerable victims and witnesses are entitled to this professional support during criminal proceedings.
You can apply to the court for the appointment of an escort during the preliminary proceedings. If the court orders an escort, this is free of charge for the victim, as the state treasury bears the costs in this case.A court-appointed counsel may be considered in particular for underage victims of serious sexual or violent offences or for other victims of serious sexual or violent offences if they are unable to adequately protect their own interests or are particularly vulnerable. The aim of psychosocial trial support, which is enshrined in the Code of Criminal Procedure, is to offer victims emotional and psychological support in order to reduce stress during criminal proceedings as much as possible. Psychosocial trial support is a supplement to the existing victim and witness support and counseling services. It does not replace legal advice, legal representation or psychotherapy. Important: Psychosocial trial support can be used at any stage of the investigation and criminal proceedings.Find help quickly
