Round tables are meetings at which representatives of different interest groups (e.g. authorities, institutions, associations or parties, but also affected persons) discuss a concern together and on an equal footing.

Local and regional cooperation against violence against women in North Rhine-Westphalia

Women affected by violence can be helped more quickly and effectively if the existing local support services are well networked

Regular exchange and cooperation between all organizations involved (such as the police, women's and specialist advice centres, women's shelters, municipal equal opportunities officers, youth and social services offices and family advice centres) can help identify gaps in the support network and develop services and measures in a targeted manner. The aim is to harmonize police, criminal, civil and social measures and to achieve an effective approach in terms of interlocking care and intervention chains.

The Ministry of Equal Opportunities of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia therefore supports the project work of round tables or other cooperation formats such as working groups, crime prevention councils and local and regional cooperation against violence against women every year.
