Hello and welcome to the victim protection portal of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia!
This portal helps people who have been victims of violence or crime or who would like to find out more about victim protection.
Here you will find a wide range of information - for example on the topics of cybercrime, genital mutilation, domestic violence, bullying, violence in care or forced marriage.
You also have the opportunity to find suitable support and advice services in your area or online.
On the homepage you will see the four most important emergency numbers. You can dial these directly from your smartphone if you need urgent help. The PC will take you to the respective website:
- North Rhine-Westphalia police
- Children's and youth helpline "Nummer gegen Kummer"
- Help hotline "Gewalt gegen Frauen"
- Help hotline "Gewalt an Männer"
From here, you can also go directly to the heart of this portal, the advice center search with area search: By entering your city or a zip code, you will be directed to the corresponding search mask.
To narrow down your search, you can select topics and target groups.
You can use the map to see the offers in your region. These are also shown in list format below the map. A brief description of the measure and, if available, the address, telephone number, email address and website of the provider are stored here. When accessing the page with your smartphone, you can contact the service directly by phone.
Some addresses are anonymized - the exact locations of women's shelters or men's shelters are kept secret for security reasons.
The services highlighted in gray in the list are available regardless of location, i.e. for the whole of North Rhine-Westphalia, and are shown in addition to the regional measures.
Under the "Victim protection" tab, you will find information on the topic of victim protection. Here you will find general information on the victim protection portal and information on other websites and portals that may be helpful to you. In addition, the Anti-Semitism Commissioner and the Victim Protection Commissioner of the state of North Rhine-Westphalia are also presented.
The topic area "Prevention in victim protection" is shown under the "Prevention" tab. Here, for example, the State Prevention Council in North Rhine-Westphalia and the projects for working with perpetrators of domestic violence are presented and explained.
In the "Legal" section, you will find information on the district police authorities and the possibility of filing a complaint, among other things. There is a link to send an online report directly to the relevant district police authority.
The Victim Compensation Act is also presented. An application for benefits for victims of violence under the Victim Compensation Act is also listed on the page.
Under the "A - Z" tab, you will find a kind of glossary. If you are not familiar with certain terms, such as "ASS" or "Loverboys", you can obtain further information here. As with the other information pages, further links to important places are also provided.
