Filing a criminal complaint in North Rhine-Westphalia
A criminal complaint can be filed at any police station, at the public prosecutor's office or online via the online police station of the respective federal state.
The online report is particularly suitable for non-urgent cases. Filing a report is straightforward, but processing may take a little longer.
In principle, victims and people who are aware of a crime can file an online criminal report via the North Rhine-Westphalia Police Internet Watch and provide information to the police.
In order to support the speedy processing of your criminal complaint or tip-off, please make sure that you provide the following information about yourself and your contact details:
- Name and first name
- Date and place of birth
- Street and house number
- Postcode and place of residence
- Telephone number (where you can be reached during the day)
- E-mail address
